Stressed Jeans For Less

I just learned a really cool trick and I want to share this one with everybody!

You know how everyone seems to be wearing worn and stressed jeans lately right?  I was shopping for some jeans like that with a couple of friends yesterday and I was  totally shocked to find out that some stores are charging two months allowance (or more) for one lousy pair of jeans!  Honestly, the ones I really liked were so stressed it didn’t look like they could handle more then a dozen or so more washes anyways.

Now I have to give credit where credit is due, I was about ready to accept the fact that there was no way I was willing to spend that much money on a pair of jeans when Teresa, (she’s like my best girl friend who is you know just a friend) pulled me out of the store and said: “Everything is so expensive here in The Chasm, I know how to make those jeans even better then they do.  Follow me if you want a great tip.”

I really didn’t know if she was joking or what but then she showed me the jeans she was wearing and explained how she made each scuff and tear.  I decided to trust her because it was obvious she knew what she was doing and she always looks great, real original you know?

I found myself riding the bus with Teresa while she explained that she was about to tell me one of her best secrets and how ridiculous it was to be spending so much money on cool clothes when there were ways of looking great and not spending a bunch of money.  I have been wanting some cool worn jeans for a while now so I was all ears and willing to try anything.  “This is our stop,” Teresa says, then jumps off the bus and leads me in to this huge second hand store.

After lots of trips to the change room and some careful choosing she had helped me pick out five pairs of gently worn and nicely faded jeans for a fraction of the cost of one pair in The Chasm!  “Now comes the fun part,” she said as I was paying for the jeans.  “This is where we get to be creative.”  I called Mom real quick and asked if I could bring Teresa home, she said yes as soon as I told her it was for one of my money saving projects.

After digging around for a bit on the internet, we found there is lots of people who do this and there are some really great ideas to try here.  I wanted to get this blog done really quick while I’m on the computer but the truth is I’m dying to get started on those second hand jeans I just bought, so I’ll let you know how they turned out in my next blog!
