If you only go on holidays for a couple of weeks a year, renting a motorhome or travel trailer may be your best option. When you consider purchase price, depreciation, insurance, maintenance and storage costs of owning, renting may be a far better option.
Further reduce your costs by vacationing with another family for double the fun for the kids and half the costs for you. Don’t forget, teaming up also cuts in half the driving and cooking duties! Most larger units will accommodate eight or more people.
Consider purchasing only what you need in a vehicle for every-day use and rent the appropriate vehicle for the few times a year you need something else. The price of renting will be offset by the lower fuel costs throughout the year and the fact that you’re not adding the wear and tear onto your main vehicle.
