Keep a couple of boxes for storing things that you want to rid of but are still useful. When full, take them down to your local charity shop or organize a take-it-or-leave-it event in your neighbourhood to recycle items you may no longer want or need to someone else.

Use your local freecycle internet site. You can post your free item and people who are interested in it will contact you. You can choose the recipient and they will come and pick it up.
