Planting Seeds In Egg Cartons

I am a Sprout. I go every Wednesday. We do lots of fun things there. We play games and work on our badges.

This week we planted tomato seeds. We used styrofoam egg cartons. First we cut the top off the egg carton. Then we poked little holes in the bottom of the part that holds the eggs. After that, we filled the egg part of the carton with dirt. Then we pushed the seeds into the dirt. We put the top of the egg carton under the part that we planted the seeds in. That way it makes a tray. We put water in the tray so that the dirt for our seeds would stay wet. If you want to put plastic wrap on top of the dirt you can. My leader says that helps keep the seeds warm and moist.
